IndiGo is implementing progressive measures to cut back water and gas consumption on flights, on the event of World Environment Day. The airline has efficiently carried out trials with a new water faucet in 200 flights which lowered water consumption by 5.4 ltr/hr.
For a median size 138 min flight (as per our trials carried out onboard), the airline saved 12.42 Ltr of water per flight. IndiGo at present operates 1500 each day flights with a median flight period of 98min. This new set up will cut back water consumption by 8.82 ltr/ flight, enabling general water financial savings of 13230 Ltr/ Day.
